Inspiring local youth with JA-YE Europe 2016
Focusing on supporting the communities in which our business operates. On 28 November, our Amsterdam office held a ‘Master Class’ and workshop, for St. Ignatiusgymnasium, in partnership with JA-YE Europe (Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Europe). This was the third time the office held this event, and on this occasion volunteer lecturers from Credit Middle Office presented at the session.
St. Ignatiusgymnasium is a high school providing education for students preparing for university. More than 40 students took part in the activity.
During the session our volunteer lecturers gave a basic overview of the finance sector including an introduction to MUFG, followed by a case study where students’ were presented with a challenge they had to propose a solution for. The group worked in teams and had a mini competition to find the best solution.
Students’ had the opportunity to ask questions after master class, and they also told us that the session “Gives extra motivation because it’s something new,” and “it was fun!”
MUFG employees appreciate the opportunity to share their international experience and financial expertise to broaden the perspective of local young people, and to contribute to the education of the next generation.
Nobuhiro Matsumoto, our president, said: “It is our pleasure to see another successful JA-YE Europe programme complete. I encourage our employees to contribute to our local communities through programmes such as this and look forward to many more opportunities to work together for the benefit of young people in our community.”
