Message from New President

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your ongoing support and patronage.

I have taken over the role of President of MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V. from Mr. Matsumoto. I am delighted to have this opportunity to continue Mr. Matsumoto’s excellent work, as well further growing the organisation.

Looking at the business environment in Europe, the economy is still severely impacted by factors such as prolonged low growth, Euro negative interest rates, and a more tightly-regulated environment. Brexit has also added new uncertainties for the Eurozone for the foreseeable future. We must therefore ensure that we are ready to transform and evolve with the changing environment.

At the first step of the challenge, we changed the name of our bank to MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V. in May 2016 and at the same time successfully positioned the operations of our Brussels branch under the same umbrella. This was followed by the transfer of our Polish subsidiary to form part of the same organisation in May 2017.

I believe that our work to strengthen MUFG’s European network puts us on the right track to further enhance our approach, which is built around what our clients want and need from us.

As a member of MUFG, we strive to fulfill the expectations of all our customers and support the European economy whilst also playing an active role in the Dutch and European societies. We look forward to serving you with the best possible products and services for many years to come.
