Prague Branch marks its 10th anniversary

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of our bank’s operations in the Czech Republic, MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V. Prague Branch held a customer reception on June 3rd.

In the presence of Mr. Masahiro Kuwahara, the CEO for EMEA, more than 140 customers, and business partners attended the celebratory reception. Guests of honour included Mr. Jiri Rusnok, board member of the Czech National Bank, Mr. Karel Kucera , CEO of Czechinvest, Mr. Tetsuo Yamakawa, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Embassy of Japan and our CSR partner, Mr. Josef Muller, CEO of Junior Achievement.

Mr. Kuwahara began his speech by talking about the new name of our European bank – MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V.. “In line with our global branding strategy we have given prominence to our group name – MUFG – to make clear that our group works as one cohesive team to support our customers across the globe. In May this year we launched our new bank to create a stronger business in continental Europe to support our growing customer base.

Furthermore, it was announced that Prague Branch would form a new partnership with Junior Achievement to deliver financial education to the next generation of young people in this country as part of MUFG’s Corporate Social Responsibility commitment.

Junior Achievement has had a long-standing partnership with MUFG, and in the EMEA region it has an established programme in 10 countries.

The history of MUFG in the Czech Republic began in 2005 with the opening of a Representative office in Prague, which was subsequently upgraded to branch status in 2006. During the past 10 years we have strived to develop strong relationships with customers and business partners alike.

Prague Branch will continue to further enhance its presence in the Czech Republic by providing high-quality banking services to customers, looking forward to the next 10 years of business.
