Deposit Guarantee Scheme

Pursuant to the Dutch act on financial supervision, MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V. falls within the scope of the Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme. 


The Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme guarantees certain deposits held by depositors if the bank would become unable to meet its obligations.  The Deposit Guarantee Scheme covers amounts up to a maximum of € 100,000 per depositor per bank, regardless of the number of deposits held.  In case of a joint account, the maximum amount of € 100,000 applies to each account holder, provided all the conditions are met.

The Dutch Deposit Guarantee Scheme shall not apply to every (legal) person and not every product is covered. 

The conditions for reimbursement are among others:

  • You are a depositor within the terms of the Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
  • The type of deposit is covered by the Deposit Guarantee Scheme.
